Roller Derby is AMAZING!! We’re not surprised your little one wants to join Roller Derby since it is an amazing group sport and community that helps build confidence and athleticism. We’re here to let you know that it is an awesome way for your kids to experience all the things that you really want them to. There are Junior Roller Derby leagues all across the country that accept skaters as young as 8 years old. The best way to find the right fit for your kid is to look up and talk to your local league(s) on what their requirements are and what your kids will need to skate with them. We have worked with many Junior Derby teams and have created some packages based on what works best for young skaters. Pads
The Pads Package will keep your skater super safe! Safety is very important and we want all of our customers to feel safe without spending a ton of money. Being safe doesn’t have to be expensive, especially in these great packages. Choose your pads package and sizes, then add any other safety gear you need. It’s that simple.
Helmets
We have a lot of Helmet Options so you’re sure to find a great one! We recommend getting a certified helmet for your Derby player and our favorite options are the 187 Certified Helmet, the S1 Lifer Helmet, and the Triple 8 Certified Sweatsaver Helmet. The 187 and Triple 8 options are dual sized so you may get a little wiggle room in sizing and the S1 shells allow you to replace liners for 7 sizes ensuring you can use the same shell for longer.
Mouthguards
Your skater will LOVE the SISU NextGEN Mouth Guard! The Devaskation team spends A LOT of time talking to skaters, and parents of skaters, and the SISU mouthguard is almost everybody’s favorite (you can read all about that here!). The SISU Aero is made from a high-tech thermoplastic material that provides 30% better protection than conventional mouth guards, despite being only a sleek 1.6mm thick (that’s over 60% thinner for maximum comfort)! Compared to the larger mouth guards that require you to take it out in order to talk, drink, etc., the Sisu is only 1.6mm thick and hugs your teeth allowing you to speak clearly, drink normally, and much more. Now that you’re happy, your kiddo will get to choose from a variety of awesome colors so they’ll be super happy and comfortable too!
Bags
Skate Bags are a must for all of that skate stuff they’ll be lugging around for the forseeable future.
