The skates:
Bottom line: These are AMAZING. Get them, you won’t regret it!! Look, I haven’t skated since I was a kid and outgrew my thrift store rollerblades and didn’t realize I could continue if I just got a new pair that fit. I completely forgot about the activity. Then I saw a woman rollerblading at the park one day, and it was like a big ol lightbulb going off in my head and I decided I needed to get myself a pair and see if I still enjoyed it (which I suspected I did). I spent maybe a week and a half researching inline skates and trying to figure out what I should go with. If you’re a cheapskate like me (heh get it), the price had me avoiding the FR brand at first. But the thing is, low-quality equipment can really ruin an experience and leave a bad taste in your mouth. So if you think it’s likely you’ll enjoy rollerblading, it’s probably worth spending more upfront. They’re a little expensive, yes, but this is also the BEST deal I could find for a pair of FR skates with a 3-wheel setup. I thought I would hate the color, but I actually don’t mind it, and I might spray-paint them too. As for actually skating in them, it’s just fantastic. They’re very cushioned and comfy right out of the box, and you can tell they’re high-quality. Plus, FR is a French company!! C’est tres cool.
Devaskation:
I was unexpectedly called out of town the day that my skates were supposed to be delivered, and I was worried about the package getting stolen while I was gone. I emailed Devaskation and they were SO GREAT! I tried calling the warehouse a couple times first but had no luck reaching anyone, so I was nervous that my email would go unanswered. But my anxious brain needn’t have worried!! They emailed me back and forth several times (in a timely manner) and helped me get in touch with UPS and figure out my options so that I could be present for the delivery. THANK YOU Devaskation for your excellent customer service, and for all of your help!!! I will definitely be recommending this site!!
