Description
The Sure-Grip Fame is a quality indoor skate for beginners in artistic skating. This skate is made of a vinyl boot with soft microfiber lining, Rock plates, and has Sure-Grip Fame 57mm wheels mounted on Abec-5 bearings.
This skate uses Rock brand plates, which are made from ultra tough nylon and compares to Sure-Grip’s Probe plate. This means that these are the strongest nylon plates around. There’s a reason why it sets a standard in the industry.
Sure-Grip designed their Fame boot with comfort in mind and are perfect for a beginner skater. The Fame wheels are the perfect choice for artistic skating, whether you’re a beginner or a professional.
If you’re interested in artistic skating or are already competing like a champ, do yourself a favor and pick yourself up a pair of these skates. You won’t regret it!

These skates are incredibly comfortable, and with a soft but padded boot, require little to no break-in time at all. The wheel base is shorter front to back than some other plates, which makes this skate very maneauverable for tight, quick turns, especially once the trucks are loosened 1/2 turn. If the indoor wheels are changed out for soft outdoor wheels (Sure Grip Motion wheels highly recommended), this is a great outdoor skate as well. The Carrera toe-stop that comes with this skate can also be substituted with larger, more substantial toe stops as needed, or replaced with jam plugs for rhythm skating.
The only negative I have experienced is that the eyelets for the laces can tear through the vinyl boot, particularly at the ankle flex area, with heavy use.
The boot size tends to run large, so careful measurement of the foot, or going down a shoe size might be recommended.

I’m a skating carhop at Sonic and got these after my Chicago skates that finally wore down, biggest mistake. These skates were amazing, I purchased the indoor Fame skates and ordered the Boardwalk wheels separate. They definitely got me through falls, wet floors, and rough concrete, and stunts! But after a couple months in, the boot of the skate began to rip, like the glue was not strong enough. Don’t expect these to last you long.
